Help Shape the Future of the
Minerva Chain of Lakes (2026-2027) 

The Minerva Chain of Lakes Association is partnering with the Burnett County Land and Water Department in developing a Lake Management Plan for the Chain of Lakes. Lake users and landowners are invited to participate in a lake user survey to help guide the Minerva Chain of Lakes management process for 2026-2027. Your input is essential to understanding how the lakes are used today and what priorities should guide future protection and improvement efforts. 

The survey walks you through questions about residency, how you use the lakes, and how you manage your property for lake stewardship. It also asks about concerns related to water quality, water levels, aquatic plant growth, and ways you may want to be involved in this project and future monitoring, protection, and implementation efforts. 

This survey takes approximately 15 to 40 minutes to complete. You may step away and return at any time — your responses will be saved. More than one individual in a household can take the survey as all can have differing opinions on concerns, priorities and goals, however, individuals may only take the survey once, so make the first attempt count! 

Participation can be anonymous, or you may choose to provide contact information at the end of you'd like to receive emails, workshop invitations, or future project updates. 

Again, YOUR feedback will play a key role in shaping the lake management goals and actions for the years ahead. Although these lakes are connected, each should be treated differently and with your input we can make that possible.

Mission
Minerva Chain of Lakes Association, Inc. will provide a forum where members can get to know each other and promote the orderly discussion of issues that impact the Minerva Chain of Lake’s community. The Association will facilitate member communication by scheduling regular meetings, sponsoring an annual social event, and publishing a periodic newsletter. While the Association provides an organized structure for education and where members can express their collective interest, the Association itself shall not have any administrative, regulatory or enforcement powers, or participate in any political activities.

We spent $4895.84 on  2 kinds of soup, mixed fruit, Peas, Peanut butter, Jelly, noodles, canned potatoes, ground beef.

Etiquette for the Lakes

For Boaters, Personal Water Craft (PWC) Users and Lake Shore Owners

  • As a Lakefront Property Owner or a Guest, your actions reflect the nature of your surroundings.
  • How the land and water is used affects the wellbeing of all.
  • Be courteous on the water – keep distance from swimmers, anglers, and other water craft.
  • Know and obey Wisconsin Boating Safety Rules and Laws.
  • Operate a boat that is the right size and speed for the lake.
  • Dispose of all trash, including food, properly. (Leave only the ripples of the water.)
  • Observe all “no wake” zones. “No wake” is required to be observed within 100 feet of a raft, pier, other boats, PWC’s, buoyed restricted areas, and the shoreline.
  • PWC’s keep to “slow no wake” within 200 feet from shoreline and wildlife (loons).
  • Do your part to protect loons, no wake for all boats 200 feet from the shoreline to protect
  • their nests and their young.
  • Observe slow speeds in shallow water and “no wake” speed on small lakes of 50 acres or less.
  • Prevent the spread of invasive species. Clean watercraft when entering and leaving waters.
  • Stay far enough away from the shore to prevent erosion.
  • Operate your boat and personal water craft with due regard for others.
  • Be Aware of your actions and help preserve the environment.
